这里benefiting their communities就是现在分词结构。
分词结构主要反映了一种主被动关系，前半句说到Adults(who work for a business)bring profit to the city，是可以理解成主语Adults 和benefit是主动关系，所以我们要用现在分词也就是doing 结构。
下面给出一些例子：

这里都是运用了现在分词doing 结构，表示跟主语是主动关系。
